SMS Program & Opt-In Details
Last updated: July 17, 2026
Express Consent Language (Call to Action)
By toggling ON the switch labeled "Send me a text before the phone call" in the MedMinder Pro iOS app's Settings → Notifications screen, the end user provides express consent to receive automated SMS medication reminders from Living the Real LLC, sent to the phone number the user enters in the app.
Standard message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on the user's scheduled medications and reminder intervals — a text is only sent when a scheduled medication dose has not been confirmed within the user-defined reminder window.
The toggle is OFF by default and requires deliberate user action to enable. Users may revoke consent and stop receiving messages at any time by (a) toggling the switch OFF in Settings → Notifications, or (b) replying STOP to any received message.
For help, users may reply HELP to any received message or contact matt.boettger@gmail.com.
About the SMS Program
MedMinder Pro's SMS Program is one tier in a multi-level medication reminder escalation flow, operated by Living the Real LLC. SMS messages follow in-app push notifications and precede an automated phone call — designed to increase the likelihood that end users take their scheduled medications on time.
Who sends the messages
SMS messages in this Program are sent by Living the Real LLC (registered A2P 10DLC Brand: Living the Real) on behalf of the MedMinder Pro iOS application. Messages are sent from a US 10DLC long-code phone number registered under this A2P 10DLC Campaign.
Who receives the messages
Messages are sent to individual end users who have:
- Installed the MedMinder Pro iOS app;
- Entered their own phone number in the app's Notifications settings;
- Explicitly enabled the in-app SMS toggle (which is OFF by default).
A separate opt-in exists for designated caregivers who wish to receive SMS alerts about a care recipient's missed doses. Caregivers must explicitly enable a per-recipient toggle within the Care Circle settings of their own MedMinder Pro app; this toggle is also OFF by default. Consent from the care recipient is required before a caregiver can be added to their Care Circle.
Why messages are sent
End users configure their own medication schedules within the MedMinder Pro app. When a scheduled medication dose has not been confirmed within the user-defined reminder window, MedMinder Pro sends an SMS reminder as part of the app's multi-tier escalation logic. This is a service-related SMS about the user's own account activity (the medication schedule they themselves configured), and aligns with the A2P 10DLC Account Notifications use case.
Opt-in message flow (step by step)
- The end user installs MedMinder Pro from the Apple App Store or, for beta users, from Apple TestFlight.
- The user signs in with Apple ID, or chooses "Continue Without Sign In" for local-only use.
- The user taps the Settings tab and opens Notifications.
- The user enters their own phone number in the "Phone Number" field and taps Save.
- The user toggles ON the switch labeled "Send me a text before the phone call". This toggle is OFF by default; the user must take deliberate action to enable it.
- From that point on, if a scheduled medication dose is not confirmed within the user-configured reminder window, the user receives an SMS reminder — sent only in response to their own account activity (an overdue dose they configured).
Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on the end user's scheduled medications and their user-defined reminder intervals. A message is sent only when a scheduled medication dose has not been confirmed within the reminder window. Users who confirm doses promptly may receive zero SMS messages. There is no marketing or promotional messaging in this Program.
How to opt out — reply STOP
Users may opt out of SMS reminders at any time by either:
- Toggling the switch OFF in Settings → Notifications within the MedMinder Pro app, or
- Replying STOP to any SMS message received from MedMinder Pro.
After opting out, users will receive a confirmation message and will no longer receive SMS reminders. Users may re-enable SMS reminders at any time by toggling the switch ON again in the app.
How to get help — reply HELP
For help with MedMinder Pro SMS reminders, users may reply HELP to any received message, or contact Living the Real LLC directly at matt.boettger@gmail.com.
Message and data rates
Standard message and data rates may apply per the user's wireless carrier plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
